Coach Choice drives towards growth with bank loan

A coach transport service in Wolverhampton has purchased new larger premises after securing a six-figure loan from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.

Bilston-based Coach Choice on Hickman Road was established in 2000 and supplies coaches to tour operators across the UK and Europe. The business also provides transport for educational school trips and school runs.

It will be extending its services next year to run its own tours program covering the UK and Europe, as well as a day trips program for adults and families.

Coach Choice was looking to move out of its rented premises and buy a permanent base following a "significant" increase in demand for its services. It secured funding support from Lloyds Bank to buy the much-larger premises which will store the coaches when not in use, and also features a maintenance garage.

Advice on the purchase was provided by Paul Kettle at George Green Solicitors.

The business also purchased a new coach with the capacity to transport up to 71 passengers, which has helped it to secure a new contract with a local school. Since the move, the company has employed two extra staff and has plans to recruit again in the New Year.

Additional funding for the new premises was provided by the Regional Growth Fund.

Director Chris Evitt said: "We have been looking to find the right permanent head office base for a long time, particularly as our reputation for quality service has been growing in the local area and the business has diversified considerably within the last few years.

"This is a really important growth opportunity for the business, and now that we have premises that suit our needs we can continue to expand our services and support growth and employment in the local area."
