George Green and ACAS join forces for popular event
Black Country law firm George Green LLP and ACAS hosted a joint seminar recently at the Copthorne Hotel, Merry Hill. The event attracted a large number of local employers who were keen to hear from ACAS conciliators and George Green’s employment law team about the new mandatory ACAS early conciliation scheme.
Tim Lang, George Green LLP partner and head of the employment law team said “ The scheme has been compulsory since early May. Claimants are required to notify ACAS of a potential claim before they will be able to present a claim to the tribunal.”
Mr Lang continued: “We decided to host a joint event to inform employers of their obligations under the scheme, how it is working and also provide some guidance about possible pitfalls and tactics. We were delighted with the amount of interest in the seminar and the number of delegates who attended”.
Ian Woolley, HR Manager of Hadley Industries, who attended the seminar said “ It was a very enjoyable and informative session and well worth attending. All employers need to be aware of the ACAS scheme and it was great to hear the insights of the ACAS conciliation officers who are actually putting it into practice on a daily basis “
