George Green completes Three Peaks Challenge in aid of MNDA

A team from George Green LLP has completed the Three Peaks Challenge raising money for the law firm’s charity of the year, Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).

Starting on Saturday 18th June, five staff members from George Green LLP took on the challenge of trekking up Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon. The challenge is both physically and mentally demanding. After climbing 2926 metres and walking over 22 miles, the team completed the challenge in 29.5 hours raising £1,900 in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Motor Neurone Disease (MND) affects up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time and it is a fatal, rapidly progressing disease that affects the brain and spinal cord; it attacks the nerves that control movement so muscles no longer work. MNDA funds and promotes research that leads to new understanding and treatments, and brings closer a cure. As well as this it also funds specialist equipment and support grants for people diagnosed with MND.

The team comprised Lauren Dale, Greg Farley, Emma Fawkes-Underwood, Jane Williams and Paul Woodman.

Lauren Dale, Trainee Solicitor at George Green LLP said “This was a huge challenge for our team. We are extremely proud to have reached the summit of all three mountains together and we have been overwhelmed by the support received throughout. We hope that the money raised from this event will provide some much needed support for someone living with Motor Neurone Disease”.

David Stevenson, George Green’s Chief Executive commented “Congratulations to the team who completed the Three Peaks Challenge last weekend. Everyone at George Green is always keen to represent the firm and get involved in our charity events. The Three Peaks Challenge is one of our many charity fundraising events being held this year. I am so pleased the money we raise will be going towards supporting the local group in Sandwell and Dudley.”
