New Corporate Partner at George Green

Black Country law firm George Green LLP has promoted Philip Round to the position of partner in its corporate team.

A specialist in all aspects of corporate law, Mr Round qualified as a solicitor in 2000 and joined George Green in 2008.

Mr Round is recognised for his technical expertise and transaction management skills. Since joining George Green, he has developed strong relationships within the firm’s core client base of owner managed businesses.  He specialises in advising on complex transaction structures and shareholder arrangements, where his detailed knowledge of company law and pragmatic approach have proved invaluable.

More recently, Mr Round has taken a lead role in developing the firm’s role as an advisor to larger corporates on high profile niche acquisitions, co-ordinating large teams of in-house specialists and external advisors to deliver a focused service on challenging deals.

He has also been working with Head of Department, Guy Green, in developing the firm’s private equity offering, having advised on several investments by VC funds over the past 12 months, and gaining a reputation in particular for a clear, commercial approach to investor due diligence.

Outside of the office, Mr Round is a governor of Holly Hall Academy.

Paul Bennett, George Green senior partner, says: “Philip’s promotion to partner is richly deserved.  He is from the Black Country and proud of his local connection. Philip has tremendous talent and we are delighted to see his career flourishing with us.”

“Notwithstanding a challenging economic climate, the firm is going from strength to strength and we continue to attract good quality instructions and lawyers of the highest calibre.”
